Bow to Your Lord

March 30, 2016

Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear: forget your people and your father's house, and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him. Psalm 45:10-11

If you haven't read this Psalm before, I would encourage you to do so.  Paul quotes it as referring to our Lord Jesus Christ and that makes it even more beautiful than it would be otherwise. The word here for bow is often translated as worship.

And again, when He brings the firstborn into the world, He says, "Let all God's angels worship Him." Of the angels He says, "He makes His angels winds, and His ministers a flame of fire." But of the Son He says, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness beyond Your companions." Hebrews 1:6-9

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness; you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions;  Psalm 45:6-7
